Wind Waker - Finishing move
roughing out Link's finishing move in Wind Waker, Zelda distracts Ganondorf with an arrow to the chest so he misses Link with a swipe of his sword, Link tumbles and leaps to deliver the final blow.. I used an image I found on the internet for one of the keyframes which set the whole scene

One of my friends let me borrow his copy of Hyrule Historia, lots of awesome information and pictures from my favorite game series. He's also playing Wind Waker HD right now on the Wii U, so I felt the need to draw something from the game

Chapter 1 - Ending - rough complete
Almost finished all the rough animation for this part of the idea. Characters still off model because of different reference photos (most from Place Promised in Our Early Days). Song is 'Empire' by Shakira. Yes I know one of the suits is just like master chief from Halo (that's what I referenced)

Rotation
the machine was designed by Carlos Estrada, I built it in Maya then Leslie Martin rigged it so I could animate it (also in Maya) imported a playblast video into Toonboom and traced it over on 1's, now I'm going to color it and add some sweet energy effects!

Brace yourselves....here come the posts!
sooo I want to track the progress of this shot - all straight ahead animation, no storyboard, no animatic, just have the scene in my head and want to get it down...
still super rough but basically the robot hits the character and knocks him back, he uses his mechanical arms to stop himself and runs towards his opponent. They size each other up, the robot throws a punch which the young boy blocks and grabs on to it's wrist, hyperextending the arm. He then steadies himself and breaks the lower half of the robot's arm off, but it's still connected by wires which are swiftly disconnected with a swing of the upper arm throwing the boy into the distance. He builds a larger robot around himself and runs back towards his enemy..... lol you get all that?

alright, so my friend Michael Sullivan and I have been working on a project for some time now, and I started to do some animating with the main character using his weapon/equipment against a big robot...this is extremely rough and way too fast right now also will have some camera movements... but here it is so far

Done...for now
alright, probably going to be the last one I post of this shot for a long while.... the director seems happy with it so I'm going to move on and work on something else in the meantime.... I'm not super happy with the bubbles and the froth inside the test tube but it still feels pretty good. Had a lot of fun working on this shot, and I think the film itself will be very successful. 'Frog Legs' directed by Katie Tamboer will be worth the watch!

Fire - Pre special treatment
quick fire test in ToonBoom, now I need to add the transparency and glow to the different layers

getting close to finishing this shot, added some blur and transparency to the smoke effects at the end, need to put the fireworks on a separate layer though so they're not so see through
