I was looking at an artbook by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto for the EVA one and the Groundworks of FLCL book for the second one

Timing
A study I did for timing - how much distance must the center of gravity of an object move between frames (on 1's and 2's) in relation to it's speed

Senior Film - Latest
This is where I got after Senior II, next is post production so I can clean it up and get the characters closer to model
Demo Reel - progress
careful, the volume is waaay too high, this is the demo reel with the rough parts still in. I made another one, more official I suppose, it can be found on my website www.TerrenceMoore.org
Ink wash
on break for two weeks, thought I should do something to keep my hands busy if I'm not animating. This is a reproduction from an image in the extra features gallery of the PS3 game Heavenly Sword - Nariko (not sure who the original artist is) graphite first, then Sumi Ink, water and a thick calligraphy brush

Senior Film - Redirection
Sooooo my senior film has changed. Seeing as I'm a 2D special effects animator I decided to go with a film that is more focused on special effects. So it's back to Logic & Passion (working title) which is about a young autistic boy with a device powered by the imagination that he keeps in his backpack. In this film he will be using it to get to, protect, and extract the other main character from a very dangerous situation. I started the rough animation, I'll post some of it soon along with storyboards!

Senior film - Machine and Inspiration
An update on the Machine - One of the concept designs by Carlos Estrada for the machine. I built a very quick model in maya and started to animate it to get an idea of how it's going to move in the preliminary stages.
I also wanted to add this link to a short film by Nelson Boles which is a big inspiration for the technical approach to my Senior film.

Senior Film - Update
I am very excited about the team that has agreed to work with me on this project. They are all extremely talented, professional and eager to help. Please forgive the re-posting of some images but I wanted to include everything in this updated package starting with the animatic, color script and newest character designs.
Synopsis- On the lawn of a cliché American University campus an experiment is taking place. The scientists and the test subjects are attempting to activate a machine with unknown capabilities. Despite their efforts the machine functions at only a fraction of a percent and has no visible reaction. They decide to call off the test and begin packing up. At this point a young boy will appear, curiously checking out the machine. Upon first contact with the device a reaction occurs. The scientists rush to stop the boy from entering the machine, but he does and it activates to it's full potential.
I'm still playing around with a few different ideas for how to end it.
Animatic
Color Script/Potential Look - Caleb Chappell
Character Design - Waymond Singleton
Live Reference - University of Virginia
Machine References
Clips from the movie Contact and Lost in Space
Color Application and Style - Chris Appelhans (Fantastic Mr. Fox)
Feel - First image is from a Studio Goblines film, the other two are from The Boondocks which is now being produced by Studio Mir
This is a little late in the day but still good

New Senior Film - Art Direction
I'm changing my idea for my senior film.....so here is some of the inspirational material for the look I'm going after NOTE: These are not my original pieces! I found these on the internet
Location
Studio Gobelins is a huge influence for this piece, especially their simplified character designs
the artwork of chris appelhans is also very inspirational for his use of color
The device, when activated is going to be very abstract
